Who Else Wants A Job In Nigeria?

Job Hunting by John Meaney
JOB HUNTING

DO YOU WANT A JOB?

Who doesn't?

The problem is that in Nigeria, it is not uncommon to see people finish from the University and not get a job.

Picture this situation: An 18 year old boy writes his first JAMB Exam. He fails. He writes again and fails. Of course, he keeps trying, seeing as University education is very important. At the fourth or fifth attempt, he succeeds.

Admission letter.

However, he is studying Botany. He hates the course but he endures and graduates four years later with a second class honours degree.

A 2.2. Hmmm...

He goes on NYSC and he is sent to Adamawa State. He is unable to apply to any jobs during his service year because of his location. So he waits until after NYSC.

What are his chances of getting a job in the next one year?

  1.  HIGH
  2. AVERAGE
  3. LOW
If you answered C, then you are very correct.

There are several people in this situation. There are many in worse situations. Still, as Don Corleone says in Mario Puzo's Godfather, every man(and woman, of course) is entitled to a living.

That's the reason for this blog. This blog would present ways to earn a living whether by paid employment or self employment or online business.
